Hi CJ, You own a 1999 Black Kat correct? I need to hear from You and get your input on that model year. A local Dealer has a 1999 Black Kat,with only 400 miles on her. I am hoping to get her at sticker price. He assures Me of a FULL warranty. Any HELP You would provide I would really appreciate. THANKS STARFLAME |

Our family owned a new car dealership, paying sticker is no deal, A good starting point would be to pay sticker OTD, Out the door, which includes everything, tax, license and see if they will throw in an extended warranty. Start at the ridicious level and let them think you are giving in, not the other way. This is a huge game, I really want you to win. They will lie through teeth, do not believe one word. ------------------ This message has been edited by Gary C on 12-07-2000 at 06:13 PM |

Also they didn't pay more than 38000 for the car. ------------------ |

Gary, What would YOU consider a REASONABLE OTD Price? STARFLAME |

In California the tax and license is about 10% of the price of the car. As you know start low, like 42000 OTD. Walkout, a couple of times, it was worked for me. Tell them you have to go eat, they will make the deal, Shop around you can buy a new one for sticker. Do a search in excite classifieds, last time I looked there were over 100 Prowlers in there. I always work with OTD prices. This message has been edited by Gary C on 12-07-2000 at 09:42 PM |

Listen to Gary, he is telling you straight...I bought a new 99 Black 2 years ago for $42K.....a slightly used one 2 years old SHOULD be worth less....if not, mail me....I have a 2000 Yellow for a very few dollars more....try to drive a 99 and a 2000 before you buy either...the 2000 Kats ride LOTS smoother....they also are a little louder and a few small trim items....ANY PROWLER YOU GET WILL BE A BLAST.... Starflame: Remember that's two model years old now. I paid 42,000 even for my new 2000 in Sept. Didn't include taxes though. That was $700.00 under sticker. Bought it from a Chicago area dealer. Found it on Autotrader.com HUGE site with over 1,000,000 new cars on the site. Bunches of Cats there for sale. |

Starflame.....Is this a used car or a new car that they have put miles on? If you give me the last 8 digits of the VIN#, we can check to see if the warranty was ever activated. This way, you can be sure of receiving the full value of the factory warranty. The Prowler carries a lower than normal discount off the msrp than other Chrysler/Plymouth cars. The discount is 3% less than the other vehicles. If you really want a black one, negotiate a price you are comfortable with. Black was built in 99 and 2000. There is a difference in the suspension (ride), but I have never found it to be objectionable. I have driven a 2000 and there is definitely a difference in the ride, but you can also upgrade the suspension on the 99, however, it isn't cheap. If you want to try and locate a black 2000, let us know and Bob can do that for you. Good luck and let me know if we can help. |

Todd, You did fine on a new color at MSRP....I have had 5 Kats so far...bought 3 at MSRP and 2 for a little under MSRP.....but just a few hundred under....the whole idea is just get the car you want and be happy with it....the cars depreciate very little compared to your average minivan....just drive, smile and enjoy....life is short, have a blast while you can kid........ yep, you only go around once! Think I have a chance to find a new 2001 or 2000 for 40K, or am I dreaming? Thinking of adding a 3rd to the stable. ------------------ |

I think $40K for a new 2000 or 01 is a little optimistic at this point in time....but who knows....I am seeing used ones(99's) in the auctions occassionally for a little under $40 with low miles ....have seen a few new ones(2000's) for around $42....also have seen them bring as high as $47k for a new one recently....all depends on the seller...wouldn't hold my breath to find one that low...BUT, you already have 2, so there is no rush....might be surprised what you find if you take your time....personally, I like having 2...one to drive and one to keep polished ALL THE TIME....mine are even the same color(yellow)...just don't be afraid to drive them...it's what they are for... yea, I was thinking about doing a radical paint job on the 3rd, if I get it... Then I have the black, the orange and a totally custome one... Of course I'll drive them, but I might have to give in and let my girl drive one though, so far she has been "forbidden"... ------------------ |

Todd, Before you decide which Kat you do what with....consider this idea...also thought about going totally custom with one...I was going to use a black for this because of all the hidden areas that wouldn't have to sprayed to match the exterior...just seemed easier...as to which one to let your girl drive, pick out the one that will look best with the nose scraped on the bottom from parking blocks and door dings from the shopping mall(women ALWAYS pick the smallest parking slots)...you can always have the curbed wheels put on any Kat....my wife drives the one with the potato chips mashed in the carpet, thats always been her trademark on my cars...women, can't live with 'em, can't kill'em Y2K YELO X 4 ------------------ |

Exactly why she's not allowed to drive any... I was thinking either a yellow or silver to have for the underlying paint, but any color will do if the painter is good enough. ------------------ |
