Last week, I had an appointment to take the Prowler in. The tech never showed up, so I rescheduled for yesterday (11/22). So I call to make sure the tech will be in, I'm told to call back around 10:30. When I call back, he's still not in and they're not sure if he will be in or not. Call around noon, I'm told he's still not in, so he's probably not coming, just bring it in on Friday! These people act like all I have to do in my day is take the Prowler in for service. As I'm sure you all know, it's not the easiest thing to drop everything and just take a car in for service. The worst part is, this is the second deaeler I've tried, and the only other Plymouth dealer in my area is a small town dealer that only likes to work on its customers cars. I guess they'd have to take me in since the warranty is good anywhere, but they personally told me they wouldn't be happy about it. I thought about contacting the zone rep, but that'll probably end up with the dealer getting treating me even worse, if that's possible. Any thoughts on what I should do? |

Contact the zone rep. You have rights, and one of the first things I would ask of him is who is his boss. I know what you mean, I'm sure there will be plenty of people responding with good reports from their dealers, but the bottom line is, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Good luck. don't give up ------------------ |

Daryl, I hear you on this. In Seattle, you find a good Prowler tech and 6 weeks later, he has moved on and they won't tell you where. The next dealership "used to" have a prowler tech but doesn't right at the moment but they promise a mechanic with experience. For me the answer is to save up some of the work I need and drive to another city where several Prowler owners take their cars and the tech and agency have been given stamps of approval and praise. But I appreciate fact this is extra effort too. Seattle isn't a small town and I have the same type of problem you do. Part of it is the tight labor market. If anyone has a good tech in this area, I'd appreciate the tip. |

Daryl- I too had a problem with the first dealership. I then tried a second one and he is great. Every time I take it in the Prowler tech meets with me to go over the needed work and then when I pick it up he tells me exactly how everything went. I agree with John, contact the regional/zone rep and let him know your problems. That is actually a big part of his responsibilities. I think it will turn out fine. Good luck and keep the chin up!

As a dealer, in my opinion of what I would do is talk to the service manager , BEFORE you call the zone rep. Contacting the rep will only make the service manager mad. You should tell the service manager, whether you bought the car from him, if I service the car here you get money for it on warranty repairs. And lets face it money is money. Don't call the service rep unless its your last result. Let me give you a example , I am in tulsa, ok and we have a lot of surrounding communities that have cp dealers and refuse to work on others cars because they didn't sell them the car. Its their way of trying to sell cars. And when they do get service done it usually isn't done correctly. So the question is do you want someone that doesn't want to work on your car to work on your car. Your decision . Good Luck |
