The 2001 Mopar Performance Parts Catalog debuted at the SEMA show last week in Vegas. In it is the first Prowler part - a performance exhaust system. It is made for Mopar by Borla, but is is not the same system that Borla has been offering through the aftermarket. The Mopar Performance system is all stainless steel and was specifically tuned to our specifications. It will have a slightly different sound, better suited (Mopar feels), to the Prowler, than the aftermarket system. The system features bright tips with the Prowler "cat" logo laser etched on the sides. These features are only available through Mopar Performance Parts. The system is expected to be in stock after the first of the year. Pricing has not yet been established. For more information, contact your local Mopar dealer. |

JP-If you want to be the center of atention, you must fight Gary for that position! Maybe you both could both start working out now to get in shape for the next big meet to settle this matter. ------------------ |

CJ, Please keep us posted on the exhaust and other Mopar parts. I like the idea for warranty reasons. Maybe we can suggest to DC to work with a blower or turbo company. Buthcee, ------------------ |

C.J. Talked to Dean at ProwlerPro today and he said the guys at DC bought a set of gears to play with. He said he doubted if they would sell them also but I hope they enjoy playing with them. I know I do. MRCAT2U |

Marc, This is EXCELLENT news. Maybe DC is paying attention. Out of curiosity, how do you know that it was DC that bought them? Maybe SOMEONE can ask enough questions and see what they are up to. ------------------ |

Just JP and Marc/Colo/99 - Suffice it to say that there is someone at DC who has a set of the ProwlerPro gears. I am sure that when they are ready, they will pass along to me the input on the gears...... |

CJ I think the people who bought them just didn't want to miss out on how much more fun the car is to drive with the gears. I really don't expect them to make it standard any time in the future. They surely have read all the posts and just want to join in the fun. By the way, beautiful cruising weather here (in the 50s-60s) with the snow covered Rockies on the horizon. MRCAT2U |

DC put in a 3:89 gear, and not a 4:96 gear, because DC was very concerned with the gas mileage that the Cat would get with a 4:96 gear. DC was focused on the fact that the Prowler only has a 12 gallon gas tank and that with a 4:96 gear the gas mileage would be marginal. Lots of marketing implications on the window sticker for estimated mpg and stuff like that. DC felt the engine could readily handle a 4:96 ratio gear. So now you know why a smaller gear wasn't installed to begin with. ------------------ |

OK, lets get back on track. Does anyone know how the Mopar by Borla compares to the Borla after market? I am very interested since the Borla after market is on my birthday wish list (coming soon, hint .. hint), along with a bunch of other Prowler add-ons. ------------------ |
