I am working on ordering a new Prowler and was wondering if anyone has picked up their vehicle at the factory (is this an option)? I know several Viper owners who have picked up their cars at the factory - and was hoping this option would be available to Prowler purchasers also. If anyone has done this, or knows who to contact that would be great. |

First of all welcome to The Prowleronline Board. We have the Largest Prowler Registry in the World, 320 Prowlers at this time and still growing daily. CJ, is our connection to the CAAP factory and she will be able to give you the correct answer. She is connact with one of the Big Wigs at The Prowler/Viper Plant and takes a little time but not long to get you the precise answer. Thanks for joining in. Keep Prowl'n |

I think that is a great Idea. Laddie could have driven his car back last year had they had this program in place. Corvettes can also be picked up at the Museum for extra $ but I hear they treat the new owners to things the dealer cannot provide. |

Museum delivery for the Corvette is a rip off, as the "extra stuff" is really not worth the $500 or so tag they tack on. Extra stuff is really only a decal on the inside door panel and a certificate ... woohoo, eh? You can not see your car being built and then go across the street to the NCM to pick it up and drive it home ... that arrangement would be welcome, however, what happens is that the car gets built and then two weeks or so late it is trucked to a Chevy dealer where it is "delivered" some 35 mi up I 65 and then transported back down to the NCM where YOU get to pick it up -- stupid, huh?! In any event ... I would welcome the opportuniy to actually ORDER my next Prowler and then actually pick it up as it came off the line ... what an experience THAT would be! |

Jim, when we are at the Conner Ave. Plant in late June, we were told you could pick up your car there. I don't know if that is true, but we were told that. Call Sylvia Holbert at 313 369-6702. She sets up the tours so she should know if you can pick up your car. |

Jim - I have spoken to Syliva at the CAAP plant and also to our tech rep. Prowlers cannot be picked up at the plant. The Vipers can be picked up at CAAP by making arrangements with JR Thompson and is possible because all Viper orders are sold orders. The Prowlers are allocated to dealers and dealers don't know what car they are getting or when they are being shipped. Sorry.....! |

I am a little disappointed we can't do factory pick-up, because I've seen pictures/video of a few friends' Viper pick-ups and it is truly an experience. Nonetheless, I will be very happy to get the car anyway. I really appreciate the sharing of information by all of you. This is a great forum! Thanks CJ, Ed, and everyone else for your replies. |

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but getting it is the important thing...doesn't matter how! |
