This new feature is in the testing phase right now. To use the voice chat, you must have a microphone and speakers hooked up to your computer. Click on the "New!Voice/Text Chat" in the upper right corner of the DF screen. Next, if asked to download software, answer yes to all questions and then click on audio configuration at the bottom of the voice/chat page. You will be in the Audio Configuration Wizard and should hear yourself in your speakers after pressing and releasing the talk button. You are now ready to do voice chat, providing someone else is in the room with you.

You may use the text chat in the room at any time, by clicking on the area at the bottom of the window that says "Type here to chat".
Just type in your message and hit enter, again, someone else needs to be in the room to interact with you.

Just do what I did last night, I was Harpo, I could hear but not talk. I did text.

And with the text, as soon as you hit"ENTER" your text comes up, it is real time stuff. No waiting.
