I'd considered some mods with my Silver 2000 but the Black-Tie, I'm keeping TOTALLY stock.

What about you?

I removed that ugly front bumper and pinstriped the car. I will keep the rest of the Cat stock.

I like it stock for the most part. I would prefer to have the newer black bumpers, but I bought the car because I love the look, so why change it. I do also like it without bumpers, but naaaaaaaaa!

Has anyone checked into the "crate 360" in the new brochure? That's what I want plus the gears. I just hope the Trans can handle it.

Gary,
The "crate 360" Mr. Fatman is referring to is
a 360 cubic inch V8 that supposedly could be
swap for the existing 3.5 litre V6 in our
current Kats. Apparently, you can order this
thru DC, but I wonder what modifications are
needed for this transfer.

MidlifeProwler - Please see my post under 360 Crate engine. I'm not sure where you are getting your info, but perhaps you have seen something I haven't! Let me know where you saw this so I can check it out! Thanks!

The only change I made to my 99 Black cat was to change the grey bumpers to the 2000 black ones. I like it much better. I will not do any other modifications. I think she's beautiful just the way she is!

Removed the muffler baffles, the sun visors and added a transmission cooler cover. No other changes planned except to replace the toy size tach for a full size 3.75" white face AutoMeter mode. Jay

I've done the front pads (very happy with them), front and rear fender extensions and removed the visors. Although I sure like the clean look of no front bumper don't know if I will do it or not. Like color matched bumpers too but ah, probably not. Will do a cooler cover sometime this winter when the snow is flying around here.

I plan to do as much as possible or necessary to keep me happy. If a motor change is available, I'll probably do that. It may be bad judgement, but getting my money back at the end of a project was never one of my goals. One of the reasons for buying this car was the low mfg. number. Its nice to have something that you don't see the same thing coming down the other side of the road. Now I would like to personalize within our group. Most of the stuff available is what we put on. Not many choices at present. I plan to make as much of what I can myself making my car unique to me.

Hiho, so long as you put bolt-on bolt off after market accessories, it doesn't matter if limited edition Prowlers are stock or not. Putting on Borlas or logo cap air valve caps isn't going to affect the value or marketability of your car. It will probably improve it. After you've had your black tie for awhile you'll be more comfortable with making minor improvements. Just don't play with the engine or permanantly alter the body style. btw, good luck keeping the trans cooler and rocker panels damage free if you truly intend to keep it totally stock.

Really isn't an issue for me. After 10 months, my 2000 Silver had only 950 miles on it. All city (ie. less then 50 mph) miles.

How do people bang up their trans cooler? Backing into a curb?

i just turned 10,000 miles and have never had a ding in the trans cooler. The dealer put the mud flaps on before I bought the car. I don't understand how the cooler gets dinged.

I have seen at 10+ Prowlers with damaged trans cooler fins. I've seen 3 or 4 new, sitting on the showroom floor Prowlers with messed up fins. Your guess is as good as mine. But there is a solution. Oh what the hey, take the risk. I mean, it always happens to the other guy anyways. Right???

Unless you back into a curb or someone kicks it, I fail to see how it could happen unless you drive in reverse at 50 mph down a gravel road.. Hey.....

No need to take someone elses slot. I've had the 2000 Silver Prowler for 1 year with not so much as a nick in the paint on the cooler.

BTW-what's so great about the cover if you back into something with it on? I'm sure it dents or scratches too. And since it hast to have openings for the cooler to breath perhaps whatever you hit will jam something through those holes/slots and STILL cause damage to the cooler.

Hope that helps.
