How many Kat owners uses the autostick
feature and what percentage of the time?
I've tried mine once and never used it again,
just don't feel normal not moving my left
foot to clutch. Does this feature really
give you an edge????

MLP- I use the autostick about 50% of the time. I believe it gives you a little edge, but not a lot. I used it on the Texas Motor Speedway track this past Sat. and it was perfect. Ran it in 3rd gear 95% of the time at about 3500 rpm. It was flawless. The only downside is if you like to rest your hand on the shifter, you tend to lean right and end up shifting into 4th sometimes by mistake. This has happened to me twice, but otherwise I love it. Good Luck!

I enjoy using the auto stick. I would say I use it about 60% of the time. I really like the gurgly sound the exhaust makes when down shifting!

As far as racing the car 1/4 mile, I've always gotten the best times by leaving the car in Auto.

Hi Mike... Did you use the autostick at the TMS or did you stay in auto? Hope you got home OK!

I use the auto stick about 30% of the time. It helps when you bank it down to 2nd at 65mph if you want to make a fast pass, or your stuck lugging in 3rd.

Paul,

I left it in automatic at TMS. I was having too much fun to think about autostick.

Glad to see you there. We made it home about 6AM on Sunday after driving all nite. We took one 45 minute rest stop.

I used autostick all the time. I enjoyed coming off the staging lanes into turn #1 in 2nd and by the time I was starting to come out of it into 3rd and shot up to 80mph-90mph. But I do see your point, I was sooooooo excited it was hard to think other than how fast can I go, or will their be a truck on my @$$!

Autostick all the time.

On the highway with cruz on, Autostick.

I think it is easier on all the parts in the tranny. If you leave it in D and you are cruz'n at 40 and touch the gas a little to speed up the car it will down shift and will be be bouncing back and forth thru all the gear.

Just One Mans opinion.

Yep Gary, that's one reason why I use the autostick half the time.

Another is when getting on the freeway. I like keeping it in 2nd while jumping onto the freeway when doing around 40 or 50. That way in case there's a need for sudden acceleration (you know how some people are adamant about you not merging IN FRONT of them) all I gotta do is punch it w/o waiting for the tranny to downshift.

I use the autostick when I get bored or when I have one of my little boys with me, they love to shift for me.

Autostick is no JOY STICK

It needs a REAL stick

I think it is just a gimmick deal,
and it really what good is it. It really will not let you do what you want it to. I use mine very little.

Nothing that a good 340 and Hemi 4 speed & 3.55 wouldn't cure sure miss my `72 Hemi Orange Ralley Challenger
