However, if I am at a big shopping mall with unlimited parking, I will take 2 spaces, but again, I will park waaaaay out on the fringe of the lot and walk as far as I have to. I do not find people to be courteous and careful around cars.

I was at an outlet mall once and had parked my brand new Dodge Ram Indy truck in a single space because it was extremely busy. I had gotten back into my truck, waiting for my husband to catch up and this car with several women pulled in and parked next to me. The lady on the passenger side opened her door to get out and just flung the door open with no concern and slammed it into my door. I was sitting right there with the window open and she could have cared less. She was standing right next to my open window and I asked her what the heck she thought she was doing. I told her it was a brand new vehicle and I didn't appreciate her slamming her door into it. She just gave me a dirty look and said, "What's your problem?" People do not respect other people's property and I, frankly, don't trust them. I have actually left places that I didn't think it was safe to park my cat and found somewhere else to take it. Sorry, it took me long enough to get my cat, I won't let anyone else destroy it.

I have had similar experiences to CJ's above posting. Not gonna let it happen to my Prowler.

I would always much rather park safely and walk a distance then be right up in the front. But of course, should I luck out and see a GOOD stall in the front, I'm game.

Have driven a lot of different cars over my lifetime, but I admit that driving the cat for the first time was a real experience. It took some getting used to. I am only 5' tall, so it is difficult for me to see the front end of the car, the back end, or the back wheels (yes, Gary, I had to raise my seat as much as possible). You have to get a feel for the car's dimensions and where you need to point it so you are in the center of a lane. You can't judge where you are by the front wheels, as they are not in alignment with the back. I judge by the back wheels. With regard to parking and the front nose, I always try to park in a spot that does not have those cement markers. If I have no choice, I stop shorter than where I think it should be. Again, you just have to visualize and get a feel for where the car is. If I get out of the car and find that I am not comfortable with how far up or back in a spot I am, I will just get back in it and repark it. When I first got the cat, I actually took it out to an empty parking lot on a Sunday and practiced, practiced, practiced and practiced parking it. I practiced pulling in forward and backing it into a space (you know how they are at those cruise nights - they always want you to back in!). As for parallel parking - I never parallel park - not even my other cars (not unless there are extra spots that I can actually just pull in!). Okay, if that sounds wimpy to all you guys, so be it. But from what I have seen, most guys aren't any better at parking a cat than I am!!

OH Parking

It has taken some time but yes I can back the car in straight.

I don't take the car the the store or places I would feel uncomfortable about leaving it. On the Friday night cruise-in's we have to use ONE spot because limited space but most the time I double park at the far end of the lot as most other Prowler owners.

I do respect other peoples car and when I get out and it is tight, I place my hand on the edge of my door if I'm afraid it will hit the car next to me. That way IF it does hit the car it is my hand not the door that touch's it.

CJ IS RIGHT PRATICE IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET COMFORTABLE IN THE CAT and what else could be that much fun to practice

Being in Indiana we have lots of room to park in most places. So most places there is room to park out and double park.

I WOULD NOT EXPECT ANYONE TO RESPECT THE CAR DUE TO RARITY I think because of the RARITY it is more of a target for the jealous

I take up two stalls if there is a lot of spaces left. A friend of mine took two stalls and got his Benz keyed. that sticks in my mind.
