http://cable-dsl.home.att.net/#QuickEasy I did this the other day with Mike and it was like putting a bottle(nitrous)on your dial up connection. Find out how to optimize your cable or DSL connection. Download either the 32K or 64K registry update depending on the "latency" of your connection. If you are not sure, download both and try both to see which is the quickest. *note* you will need to reboot your computer after installing the patch. This is more important than taking off your front bumpers on your Prowler. [This message has been edited by Gary C (edited 09-12-2000).] |

I know that it may sound complicated, but to cut to the chase, just download the files under method 1 for your appropriate operating system (win95/98 or 2000). Download both the 32k and 64k for your appropriate operating system and then click on it to install the patch. You will need to reboot your computer for it to take effect. I would start by installing the 32k patch and check your speed and then try the 64k patch and see which one is quicker. You can check your before and after speed. Click here to test. It's best to try the test several times and get an average speed. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Mike Krehel (edited 09-12-2000).] |

Warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT DO THIS My inital speed was 337.2 and this was consistant. After trying method 1 at 32k or 64k the most I can get is 168. Now I can't get back to my default that was the fastest. |

Don't panic. Read what Mike said. Take an average. Before and after. Recheck again and again. It works. trust him. |

Most people see a 25 - 80% speed increase after installing the tweak. If however this doesn't work for you, simply return your Win 95/98 computer to default settings by downloading this default file to your desktop and executing it. Remember to reboot your computer afterwards!
