I have had the same problem repeatedly with my chromes. I just took my '99 purple into the wheel shop today. They are going to strip the chroming off the inside barrel of the wheels and then powder coat them in black. I could have had any color I wanted, but I think the black will show the least and should most likely make the chrome on the outside stand out. I will get it back tomorrow and let you know. |

Just wanted to let you know I got my cat back this morning and the powder coating looks awesome. You can't even see it unless you get up close and look into the wheels and then it only looks dark shadowed. I went with black instead of purple as the black definitely shows off the chrome. |

Thanks David. I'll bet Kevin's glad we didn't have a Sony camera on that last night! |

Hey John.. I will try and get with DavidN this weekend or early next week and get you some pix. It's gonna be tough cause it's so dark, but it definitely makes a difference. I talked to this guy that did the work and he showed me a couple of spots where the pitting had penetrated all the way through and there wasn't anything he could do but cover them up. You have to look so close to see them so it doesn't bother me. We'll talk soon. |

I am having the rear wheels replaced in the morning. My dealership is A-1 No problems at all. showed them my pitted wheels and they ordered new ones Immediately. Your dealership is not doing there job. ------------------ |

Nyle.. I talked with my dealership and they stated that the inside barrel of the wheels are magnesium and therefore no matter how many times they replaced them within a year or less they will start all over again. I owuld hope that they wouldn't lie... or would they? PaulR '99 Purple in Dallas |

I'm not positive but I'll bet you $100.00 that the wheels are NOT MAGNESIUM. Find another dealer or tell me where to send the money. ------------------ |

Larry, I guess their gonna hear about it by 8:00 am Tuesday. The powder coating does look good though, but the more chrome the better. |

Is averyone talking about the newer chrome wheels and not the older wheels that were painted? I took my cat in and showed them the peeling chrome and they ordered a new one. I don't see pitting, but I always got the brake dust off as soon as possible and finally changed over to the ceramic pads, to eliminate the acidic brake dust. |

The wheels are made by American Racing. Call them to find out what the problem is. My 2k hasn't had it yet. _AL |
