quote: There is a company in FL that is chroming the stock grills with good success. If you want someting different take a look at our front grill, i.e. Carlini Design. Give me a call anytime and I will e-mail some pictures. The number is (949) 380-8587. [This message has been edited by GaryE (edited 08-24-2000).] |

Gary's Carlini grill looks great, I really like the vertical body color insert with chrome rim. My Grill is a stock Prowler grill that was sent to Custom Coating in Tallahassee, FL. (850) 562-0538 I had to send them the grill and wait 6~8 weeks. I think it was about 6 weeks. Love the look. It blends so well with the chrome in the headlights. (I purchased a new grill and had chromed to retain my stock grill) Laddie put his chrome grill(also done by Custom Coating) in the new ORANGE Prowler and it looked fantastic. ------------------ |

I had my front grill chromed by Custom Coatings in Tallahasse, FL. Same place & number as Wildcat... You can go to the events link and look at pics under 8-19-00 and you will see my chrome grill on the new color for Prowler "Sparkle Orange". |

I also had my grill done from Custom Coatings about a month or so ago. It seems that quite a few people have been satisfied with the work. I can only tell you of my experience. They want payment in full before they will send you back the grill. OK I can understand that. But when I eagerly opened the box, that was very poorly packed by the way,I was shocked to find a grill that was three different colors. I immediately got one the phone and expressed my dissatisfaction.(Politely I might add) I asked them if they looked at the grill before they sent it back and was this the quality of work that they normally do. They did offer to rechrome it. So I let them. I had to pay the shipping back to them. When I received it back the second time it was much better, although that would not be that difficult to do. As I looked at the grill closer I noticed that once you got past the exposed portion of the horizontal fins that the back of those fins were not polished. It almost looks like brushed aluminum. No I have shown it to several friends and they say that no one will notice it but me. But I feel that it wasn't up to my expectations. Just an FYI, I did take it to what alot of people feel is the best chroming place in town and they did not want to touch it. Said that they could not make it meet there high standards for chroming. Maybe that should have told me something. I do have it on the car and it looks good as long as you don't get down there and really inspect it. So if you do send it to Florida, be careful. ------------------ |

Laddie, do you have a new orange cat already? If not, how did you put the grill on it. I really like it, by the way. |

Ed. Not yet... We were just having fun and doing a little field market research & testing on Woodward... By the reaction of everyone, it seems that this would be nice option or addition to Prowler Sparkle Orange... |

BOB, The exposed part of my grill looks great. I too was disapointed in the part under each fin. YOUR FRIENDS ARE RIGHT Now that it has been on my car for several months I do not see the unfinished part of the fin. Yes It could be better. Steve Miller has his chromed by company in Chicago, but they will not do another and, his is polished all the way back on each fin. The reason they didn't do a chrome grill from the factory is because they could not get the quality they wanted to satisfy US. I have my stock Yellow grill and doubt it ever goes back on the car. LOVE MY CHROME GRILL ------------------ |
