For all those that feel at car shows we are treated differently because of the newness of our cars.

This is my feelings from the car show at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum.

We can go to any car show and be disrespected. I never dreamed it would happen at the WALTER P. CHRYSLER MUSEUM.
Build the coolest car on EARTH then the owners cannot get any respect.

MY VOTE FOR THE NEW BADGE FOR IT WOULD BE; THE RODNEY DANGERFIELD PROWLER

After waiting for awards they were trying to get winners lined up for awards only to find out then PROWLERS, VIPERS AND PT CRUISERS WERE EXCLUDE

I don't care that I didn't win BUT THREE OF THE REGISTERED VIPER, PT CRUISER & PROWLER should have recieved an award.

Someone that goes to joe's plymouth dealership and just buys one should get a prize? Get real.

Heck the dealer could have even done all of the detail work and armouralled the tires for him.

Brand new, never really has been a class with any contest.

It is obvious you have never seen this dealer supplied new show car....custom paint, custom body work, polished frame etc etc....far more work in this car than many "street rods", why shouldn't there be a class for this type of car....just because it is a new car, all the work doesn't count ??? It wins awards at every show it goes to....why wouldn't the owner expect a class for a Prowler at a DC show ??? I see many modified Prowlers and Vipers at shows everywhere....I have a Viper(highly modified) and 2 Prowlers(one modified)...why wouldn't the owner expect to be recognized for his work....most cars in show classes today, the awards are for the car most resembling STOCK....just as the dealer supplied them....don't get the rationale

Actually, the resemble stock more then the originals did but, they are typically 20+ years old (not 2 days old) so it requires great effort to get them in that condition.

If there was a class for highly customized cars, fine, new or not they could have a class but, to say there is a class for stock year 2000 cars with 100 miles one them isn't really a contest.

I don't know what the original poster has done to his car but, how can the promoter turn away (say my new 2000 stock silver) others of the same make that don't have custom paint jobs? I mean after all, to most a 2000 prowler is a 2000 prowler.

I was with Larry at the WP Chrysler event. The point is they should not invite a make/model/year car and have a class for them unless they intend to judge them and present awards. Larry's car is awesome by any standard. The event had only around 100 cars and there were 5 Prowlers, A Viper and I believe around 4 PT Cruisers so we made up one tenth of the show cars in attendance.
One of the award winning cars was not even a documented Muscle Car. The guy admitted it was a clone and it took a 2nd place in it's class.

larry, Didn't they Gladly take your money to be in show? I'd ask for a Refund! Here you stuck around all day ,for others to enjoy your car. Then to say your not Worthy of a $5.00 Trophy. What a crock! Gary H.

I'm disapointed!! I keep braging that DC has done something great by introducing a new hot rod that no other car company wanted to, and then they don't even reconize it.
They could have made a class for it if they really wanted to, it was their show!!! What about best custom paint job for new hot rods, anything would have been better than nothing. I love DC (I don't work for them and niether does my husband) but I can't believe this happened, someone was just not thinking. I'm sure if they had, there would have been some kind of class they could have made for our kats. Next year we will find out if there is a class for us before we go!We will have to have our own judgings and prizes, because we had some really great cars!!! I loved them all! We will see what happens in this next year. I'm with you on this one. My love for this car, makes me mad when its not loved back.

Probably some bean counter set up the rules and categories. It is evident that a car enthusiast didn't organize such an event.

HIHO,

It isn't the money, it is the RESPECT or THE LACK OF IT I do not have a 100 mile stock car. It now has 12,000, almost as much as my `81 Imperial (13,500) My car is a show car just as any restored car is. As Larry Bell noted, CUSTOM PAINT, CHROME GRILL, DOOR HANDLES & WHEELS (100 point Show Chrome, front & back side), Polished frame, matching custom painted trailer. Many hard hours to get my car in this condition. Yes they had a class and yes there should have been a winner in the class, I would have picked the silver with flames as a winner. Some really cool PT's also.

HIHO, if there is a Corvette show DO THEY EXCLUDE THE LATE MODELS?

Carol, yes they had a class it included PT Cruiser, Vipers & Prowlers. They just choose not to judge them.

The ones I have seen, yes the C5's are excluded. I guess if they have done alot of non-stock work on the car there could/should be a class for that but, stock new cars, IMO, no.

BTW, your car sounds cool with all that you've done to it.
