This was great... We had terrific time. Thanks to Mike for allowing us to play in this Prowler playground.

We had a wonderful time at the race track Friday afternoon… Mike Krehel & John Hennssey rented the track from noon to 5:00. It was open to all Prowlers and Mike’s Hennessey Viper. We had three NOS Prowlers & one Paxton Supercharged Prowler (mine) and one combination (Mike's Paxton SC & NOS) plus three stock & one mustang.

I made ten runs & Michelle (my daughter from Sacramento) made three runs (total 13 runs)… It was hot 103+. John Hennessey measured the track temp at 151 degrees. My best time was my 1st run at 13.65 (99.1mph) & Michelle’s best was 14.4 (95.5mph). I didn't squeal my tires on 1st run. But after that I couldn't do anything to not squeal those 20” tires. The stock Prowlers were running mid 15s. Karen (my wife) made one run as my passenger & Michelle ran with me twice & I was her passenger on her three trips…

After my 1st run, I had a 13.9, three 14.0, one 14.2, three 14.5s & one 22.8 (I did so much spinning at the line, I decided to cruise down the strip). I've never heard so much wheel spinning. Maybe it's time to buy
some Goodyear stock (because if we keep this up we'll be buying more tires). I'm very pleased with the performance of the Paxton SC... I wanted to beat the C5 vette in ET times and I have...

Now if you want to kick it up a notch. Mike has added NOS to his Paxton SC... Mike had the fastest times with this combination of Paxton & NOS.... Mike & I had one race and he beat me by one full second and this wasn't his fastest time. I think it shows the results of the extra NOS can add to your mph & ET (even with the heat & spinning). On that run Mike had a 13.0 106.7 mph & I had 14.0 97.95 mph.

Fred & Warren each had 150 HP NOS kits didn't beat Mike's best times (I'm guessing they didn't beat his best 4 or 5 times... Mike will be posting everyone best times when he gets their replies... One thing of interest, with the exception of Warren, everyone's best time was there very first run. Paul who lives near the track (stock Prowler) and has
run there a few times at night said his times Friday were about 2 MPH slower than his night times. And, he attributes this to the heat..

So, based on that, I'm guessing my Paxton SC (under cooler conditions & less spinning) will do 13.3 & 101 MPH... That's nice... Now the question is --- do I want to be like Mike, you could get down to low 12s & not sure about MPH (maybe 112 to 115). Another side bit.. The NOS guys ran out of gas... Fortunately Mike had a refill setup & was able to refill Fred & Warren's bottles...

The warrior of the day had to be Paul & his wife Peggy. They must have run 25 to 30 times in his stock Red Prowler.. And he raced everything including Mike's Viper....

Sorry if this was a little long. Friday night after we left Paul & Peggy's house we spent the night downtown San Antonio at the Menger Hotel (very nice across from the Alamo and two blocks from the River walk). Very nice hotel and I would highly recommend it if you are ever there (lots of history).

I was so keyed up Friday night, I couldn't sleep. 1:30 in the morning and I was sending Mike pics and my best times for me and my daughter... I was up early and may the drive back to Louisiana in 10 hours. Got back last night about 8:00pm. It was a blast... Now, I'm going to be off for Woodward.. Leaving this Wednesday...

By the way. John, I didn't see your email until after midnight Friday. I
didn't know about the Prowler Owner association T-shirt until I got to the track. Mike, John wants to buy a T-shirt...

Again, special thanks to Mike & Judy for all the fun.... Thanks to Paul & Peggy for feeding us after the races. Nice meeting everyone...

Maybe everyone could post their best times here... Check out the pics under the scrapbook... laddie...

Email received from Warren Kolar.......

Many thanks again for putting all this together. It was a blast to see all those Prowlers peeling out, and I had the time of my life (first time, mind you) actually sitting there on the line staging and watching the Christmas Tree light down, and
then, yeeee haaaa.

And special thanks for the bottle refill. That last run, which was only possible because you set me up, was my fastest.

Here are the ticket times for that last best run...

1.0892----Reaction
2.2632----60 ft
5.7518----330 ft
8.6248----1/8 ET

13.270?---1/4 ET (Can't read the last digit)
105.50----1/4 mph

I look forward to seeing you and Judy again.

As Laddie has stated the best run for just about everyone was their first run. After that the tire spinning was killing everybody. I even lowered the rears to 22 lbs but it made almost no difference.

Warren Kolar, Purple 99, and I had the Mr. Nitrious setup installed last week and so we were both new to all the settings but we'll get better at it after Friday.

We're running the 150 pill and have the computer installed in my console. I did play with different settings and found that a 1 second delay with a 3 second "ramp-up" delay and a 50% start to 100% worked the best for my car. This is the only modification done to an otherwise stock Kat.

Best 1/4 mile ET = 13.1 at 103 mph
Second Best 1/4 mile ET = 13.3 at 101 mph

A VERY BIG "THANKS" to John Stewart, Mr Nitrous of Nitrous Express, for his excellent wet system and pricing and also a big "THANKS" to Chris and Terry at Cruisin' Classics in Richmond, Tx. for doing the install in 1 1/2 days at another excellent price.

Total system price, including a couple of extras, installed = under $2,000.00

Anybody have any stock Prowler times?

To bad I couldn't be there. I would love to come down there and race some time. I just need a little lead time.

Mike Krehel, John Hennssey & Gang,

Here is what John Davies and Dan Peña did at the "HOT AUGUST NIGHTS STEAD AIRPORT". I had the original Paxton housing without the venturi plate. John Davies had the upgrade kit from Paxton. We had some difficulty understanding the Boost knob in our dash and kept increasing it from a 9:00 o'clock position to finally a 2:00 o'clock position which gave us our best times. Keep in mind these where 1/8 mile runs in Reno. We did a total of six runs starting at 10:12 am to 1:18 pm. The whether was hot around 100.

Today I removed the whole airfilter housing and generated 9 pounds of boost and could have done 10 if I held it. John Jacobson at our brunch today said he made 11 pounds of boost in the morning. John Davies followed thru with this too and has expressed higher boost also.

This is all for now from us in California!!

I arrived last and it was reeeeeaaaallyy hot! I had my 4 yr old daughter with me, so I was only able to make 1 pass around 4:00. My car is stock and ran 15.2 @ 89.7 mph. If the weather cooled off a little, I'm sure it would've picked up a couple of tenths and broke into the 14's.

We had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone. My daughter loved the T-shirt and stickers! I wanted to make it to Paul's for the cookout, but I couldn't. Oh well, we'll get together for a cruise sometime.

Hi Bryant.

Bryant (with one arm in sling) had the best reaction time of all of us (.5005 & .5 is perfect).

A cute side note... He told his 4 year old daughter they were going to a Prowler Playground... When she first got there she kept asking him where was the playground...

She also made a run down the strip in a Golf cart.... Again, good times and fun meeting everyone...

I love the pictures. I want an 18-wheeler like that for my toys when I grow up.
