Everyone that has emailed Fred Henkel and myself agrees that Friday 8-11-00 is the best day for the event. I will reconfirm the date with the Race track on Monday and post the confirmation here. For those of you that might not be familiar with the event, John Hennessey and myself will be renting out River City Raceway located about 30 miles east of San Antonio from 12 noon till 5PM. This event is open to all Prowler owners and is FREE. You may bring as many friends as you want. If you would like to race something other than your Prowler, please email me in advance. ------------------ |

I'm located down the street from the track, so let me give you some more info. The track is located at mile marker/exit #597, Santa Clara Rd on IH-10 in Marion, TX. Here's their website: http://www.rivercityracewayinc.com/ Will they require helmets for this event? |

OK, here's the deal on helmets. If your car runs under 14 seconds you will be required to wear a helmet. This should be no problem with a stock Prowler. If you should require a helmet, the race track keeps 3 spares and will let you use them for free. ------------------ |

Sounds good. I asked about helmets because the last time I was out there, they required convertibles to have helmets too. Either way, their spares should help. I'll try to take off work Friday afternoon so I can be there. |

Mike, Bryant. I'll be there with helmet. In looking at maps, we have about 500 miles to trael... So, we'll probably spend night in Lake Charles or Beaumont Thursday night and than leave early Friday (around 6:30 to 7:00) taking I10 through Houston and arriving at track around 11 to noon.... laddie... |

GENTLEMEN, START YOUR ENGINES AND OPEN YOUR BOTTLES.... Laddie we're glad you will be joining us. I understand this may be the first nitrous Prowler shoot out! I've heard rumors of 3+ nitrous cars plus 2 supercharged Prowlers. David N will be flying his private plane above the track taking pictures and videos. We will even try to coax him into landing on the track! Hope to see all South Central Prowler enthusiasts there! ------------------ |

By the way,, Mike, I've been told that most all NHRA tracks do require helmets in any car that runs in the 13's. ie:13.99 or less. I know you said you'll have a couplle of extra helmets that we can "swap" and I think we may need them after all. A very sincere THANKS must go out to you, again, for this OUTSTANDING offer to Prowler owners to be able to "rack 'em and stack 'em" at the Drag Strip. ------------------ |
