I'm driving down the freeway today minding my own business and driving 7 miles over the speed limit and got stopped by a highway patrolman. I thought he was going to get me for speeding (not) He wanted to know why I had no front plate. I told him there was no place to mount it and he said I should get it mounted ASAP and let me off with a warning.

What should I do? I don't want to mess up my front bumper because the plate would look ugly and the holes might decrease my cars resale value. Any suggestions?

Contact Real Rods.
I was told recently by David Sable that Real Rods has a very nice front license plate holder.

I saw `30's something at Goodguys. He mounted his plate behind the grill. It was at night and I could still see it.

Might be worth a try

I've only been stopped once in my Prowler for going 6 miles over the speed limit.

The officer was more interested in the car and asked me all kinds of questions about it. Of course I'm always answering those kind of questions anyhow!

After circling my car about 3 times, I asked him why he pulled me over. He told me that I was speeding and wrote up a warning citation for speeding and no front license plate.

I told him that there was no place to mount it, to which he responded why not put it on the dash on the passenger side. Apparently this is legal in Texas, maybe not all states.

Now here is what I do:
I keep my front plate under my passenger floor mat. My plan is if I ever get stopped again and questioned about the plate I'll say I keep it on my dash and it must have fallen on the floor. I will then show them the plate that somehow mysteriously slipped under my floor mat!

I haven't been stopped again since, so I don't know if they'll buy the story.

Anyway, just another option.

Mike's got a good idea. I keep my 'front' tag in the pouch behind the passengers seat, if stopped I simply say,'it fell off'.

Purple Pride:

I mounted my front plate with a pair of
T Plates from Home Depot.
Bend the plate at the T and if you look
under your bumper, the groove is where
I drilled the holes for the T Plate. Once mounted. I took the plate holder that
cane withe car and mounted the plates.
If you go to Scrapbook, and look at DFW
POA photos you will see a black cat
with plate on the front. (mine)
Cheap and simple and obeys the law.
