Well we started out in Seabrook with a brunch and then "Cruised" down to Galveston Island for a tour throught its Historical District. The fun started in Seabrook where we took the first pictures of 8 Prowlers in the parking lot with the boat marinas in the background. Eight Prowlers creates quite a picture by themselves. On the Cruise down to the Island we tok over the center lane of I-45 and had the traffic moving at our speed (65). AWESOME! Once we turned onto Seawall Blvd in Galveston the heads started turning and then we pulled over to stop for more pictures. This is where the one of two GREATS happened! As I stepped out of the car where we stopped, in a NO PARKING/TOW AWAY ZONE, I suddenly see two County Sheriff's trucks coming and over the bull horn speaker the lead one states "LOOKIN' GOOD, GUYS!!". They hhad to go another block so they could get into the beach area because we were blocking their entrance. They came backk on the beach and got out and drooled all over the cars. As one officer stated to me, that's a sexy car for sure! We then continued on our route, which we had to adapt due to construction, and came back to Seawall Blvd and stopped at a filling station for drinks for us and the Kats. Now the second great part, while we are sitting in the filling station, in pulls a new red Viper with two young guys in it. I walked over to the car and talked with the driver and he states "Those sure cost a lot, huh? Man, they are some kinda kool car! (Made my day!) We then got back on the road and again did a number on the I-45 traffic back to Seabrook and the Sundance Grill. There we took more pictures and had a great late lunch and had some great talk about the day. All in all, we had a great time together. It appeared to me that it didn't matter if glitchs came up, all that mattered was we were all together in our Prowlers, the Streetrod of the 90's..... Looking forward to our next event. ------------------ |

quote: I believe well over two hundred pictures were taken and as soon as I get them broken down I'll send them on. I know one of the drivers took about 80 of them himself. ------------------ |

Congrats on the show Fred. It sounds like you guys in Texas have a pretty active group also. It makes it all worthwhile when a lot of cars show up and everone has a good time. Maybe you can drum up a little interest in taking your guys for a short cruise to the Grand Canyon with us in November. I am expecting a very large turnout of cars and owners. I'd love to have you Texas people join us. ------------------ |
