ON the other board there is concern for removing the front bumpers because the air bags will not work, Don't worry, be happy. I was at the dealer today and asked the question. On my 2000,in front of the battery on the main rails of the chassis there is a small black box on each main rail, those are the censors for your airbags. They SHOULD work just fine. I am going to ask the question again when I go to CAAP.

Please continue enjoying your bumperless Prowlers.

I am one of the pioneers of the bumperless Prowler. Mine have been off since October 98.

The air bags work off the nose and chassis.
The bumpers are hard mounted NO elecronics other than turn signals. They, the bumpers, were put on to meet the 5mph crash test rule.

Now if you are concerned about street legal in some states you need a "bumper" . Take a look a mine it has the Real Rod Front & Rear End Protectors.

My bumpers are off as well. Pennsylvania does require bumpers for inspection. This year I just took a picture with the bumpers on and it passed inspection! Go figure?
