Do we need to ask for volunteer directors for regions or states? Where should we have our yearly gathering, for next year? Can we get a list of all the Prowlers owners to send a mailer to tell them what we are all about? Should we form a board to decide where to go next? Am I going too fast? I will help!!!!!!! ------------------ |

Plan now for next year's annual "meet" and coordinate it around those two fine ladies up there in Detroit for the annual Woodward Cruise-In ... since WE are all about cars, fun and yes, a budget too ... that would certainly appeal to me before a supposed Up-Tight, high budget trip to Wally World in the sunshine state! We could do a full weekend, Thurs - Sun. of Plant tour (CAAP & MSX), the Chrysler Museum (?), maybe a Tiger's game and then all the Woodward stuff to boot. Holiday Inn's work great and casual get-togethers around the pool, the parking lot or .... heck,a park would be better than stuffy old banquet rooms. Maybe if pesented with a well thought out plan, DC may be inclined to listen to rationale thought and enthusiasm versus self endulged manipulation and greed. Heck, they may even pop for some support -- who knows! As for State Directors, Regional Liasons or just plain energetic go-getters (ala The Lord of Activity) ... ask for volunteers or just throw darts at each of our names!!! A TRUE democratic way of doing things. Prowl On dudes and dudettes. |

That sounds like a good game plan to me Al! Things will evolve with time. It should all be about having fun, meeting new friends and enjoying the greatest automobile ever put on the face of this planet! ------------------ |

I'm with Al & Mike on this one. Each of us can plan something and invite all Prowler Owners to join in. Hey Gary where do I put the stamp on this thing?

I agree with Al and Mike, We just need to take a little time for the Prowler Owners Association to find it's own level. I see no need for any sudden moves to organize yet. I do feel that we need to settle on a name for the new group and it's members. I feel that the Prowler Owners Association is the best choice and I hope that everyone will agree on this. I will handle the events for the SoCal-POA and I hope that others will step up to the plate and take charge in their area (either acting alone or as a group) to promote interest in our organization. The primary purpose at this time should be in letting people know about who and what we are. NorCal-POA, AZ-POA, Great Lakes-POA, Central States-POA, NW-POA, Rocky Mountain-POA, CO-POA, Bayou-POA, Gulf States-POA, TX-POA, and Midwest-POA are just some areas that I feel will work. If an area is too large the members will not travel to the events. If an area is too small the director will not be able to get a number of cars together. From my experience, the more cars present, the better time had by all. I don't feel that we need to elect directors at this time. I feel confident that the needed directors will rise to the position if given a little time to settle in and try out some of their ideas for events. If you are interested in taking a director position in your area please let the members know it. Many will be very glad you did and offer their help, others will take a back seat and wait for you to tell them when and where to show up. Either way, Please remember that we need to work as a team in order to make this fun for all. One more thing,,,My fault,, I keep saying to work as a team but in a previous post,,I stated that I was planning a regional event at the Grand Canyon. I omitted the fact that Larry Salzman, Al Becker, Phil Horvath, Debbie Angell, Gary Cleverly and Roger Freeman have already contributed their ideas and time so far. The AZ-POA will be very active in the planning of this event and will probably do most of the work on it. I am sorry for neglecting them in my previous post we really have been working as a team and I took all of the credit. ------------------ |

Geeze, someone asks for suggestions on a number of topics and I thought I gave what the person was asking for ... too fast, too slow, have fun, keep as an investment ... so many questions and an equal number of opinions to go along with them. By the way, I do believe that POA is Pilot Owners Association as well, if that matters to anyone ... but I like the association of the area tied to the main name that Larry Lord brought up. |

Larry - That sums it up pretty well. I myself would like to stay away from "Directors". I'm not saying that we do not need people to take action and organize events - big and small , simply that I do not like "Director". Director implies one person is superior to an other - Not So - we're all owners - some a bit more vocal than other. Director implies than you have a great Duty to perform and I would not want to put that pressure on anyone. More people may help if they do not feel the pressure. Director implies that there is Pres - VP etc - again Not here - we're here for fun not bureaucracy. And finally - Director reminds me of PPC Larry - for the WSPA you are the "The Main Man" "Lord of Wisdom" etc I think people will rise to the challange of organizing big and small events and a spokes person for the area will evolve. If they want to be referred to as "area organizer" - "local voice" - "Prowler Guy or Gal" or "Main Man" I would accept anything more social that "Director". As the Prowler Owners Association evolves I expect that people will have interests in special areas and will take care of them. For Performance - contact Mike, Scrapbook - send them to me. Sound products - Glen, Assoc T shirts - I'm sure someone will pick that up soon. Also - Small events and short notice runs are very important. ANYONE can start events by a few simple phone calls. Happens all the time but are mostly not posted on the site. Sorry for the long post - it's contagious. -- Tony |

I have always enjoyed the fast lane but I guess I'd crossed over the median into on coming traffic. I will try to get to the other side with my flow of traffic and get in the slow lane with all the blue hairs and set the cruise at 52mph. Only one problem, when L.Lord was a 160 mile run I will have to leave 56 minutes before anyone else so we arrive at the same time. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Gary C (edited 07-15-2000).] |

Gary, Might be able to help you out with the owner's lists you need. Let me know what regions you are looking for. I agree, there are lots of great people out there and the opportunity to plan some great events, whether they be local, state-wide, regional or national. They will all evolve with time and effort. We should probably work on small-medium steps before we take giant leaps! Keep up the good work everyone! |
