As a web geek who has created and sold a web site to the majors in 2 years, I have watched this Prowler Club. I wondered why I paid. Theres nothing useful for the members and I have yet to receive my kit. The so called deals are a crock. I called and inquired about items and was fed the same prices before they knew who referred me. Except for a bad link email I sent, they usually dont respond to email. Their web skills seem to be lacking, from the uncomfortable design to the poorly laid out message board. Yet when I offered to help them tweak the board , I was ignored. Take a look at http://board.3dfiles.com/ Note how you can tell where everyone is from, private messaging, voice\chat link, custom user statuses, spell checking and TONS more. Most of this requires hacking of the scripts themselves and is not difficult. I would also like to offer my services here if you need help getting this forum to kick ass. In one week, people would come here over there just for the features alone. Oh, none of these hacks cost anything and neither would my help. I considered doing this myself because I knew I could do it better. I offer my services because I would like to be a part of a better community then what we currently have. Let me know via email or here if I can be of assitance. |

Tim, I was very disappointed and surprised when a PPC member e-mailed me a copy of this post. I feel that the comments “Their web skills seem to be lacking, from the uncomfortable design to the poorly laid out message board. Yet when I offered to help them tweak the board, I was ignored.” were a personal attack on myself, uncalled for and unprofessional. I have been involved in three (one is a national franchise so I do know about the big boys) very successful customer service oriented business and a common practice between my competitors is not to bad mouth another in the field, no matter what our personal feelings are it is simply not professional. The “poorly laid out message board” appears to be the same as this one and the one on the link that you sent me so I don’t understand where you are going with that. As for my web skills lacking I have successfully worked on over 60 web sites including the realrod.com site and have only heard praise from owners and customers alike. Your e-mails have not been ignored, as you noted you received a reply thanking you for the tip on the bad link, which is on my list to be fixed. Your e-mail offering help with upgrading the discussion forum was very much welcomed due to my time restrictions. I believe this e-mail was received by me on Thursday June 29th you have not been responded to yet for two reasons. Number one: I am not at liberty to make changes to the web site without talking to someone about it. I visited the link you sent me and put it on my list of things to bring up during my next meeting. The second reason is that I closed my shop for the holiday weekend and was hoping not to have to work during it but I guess that idea failed. If you have a problem with the PPC or a PPC official that is between you and them DO NOT involve or take it out on me! Jim |

I will also stand behind Jim the web guy. I have the utmost respect for him and the work that he has done for the PPC website. Jim has always been prompt in answering any questions that I may have and has also been very helpful to anyone that I had contact him. Is Jimmy the BEST? I don't know! But I do know that he has always done his best for me! |

Well, since your sharing the email with everyone, here was my response. As some local rod enthusiasts told me (a little late) "Dont join any of these clubs" Now, I know why. I guess payment in full means you get treated like crap and cant complain about it. My mistake. I ask to be removed from your Prowler Club. You have not delivered on what you promised and I expect a refund on my VISA next month for the time remaining. "Jim, |

Quick apology is warranted. I ASSUMED (you know what you get) that Jim was the webmaster and probably ran it. Having designed websites, I realize that you are forced to do what your asked and that can make for a bad layout if your not given some freedom. Probably why I refuse to design anymore ;) Again, JIM, as I stated in email, I apologize for it all landing on you, that was not my intent. Guess to get a refund, I have to start again and find the man. Looking forward to talking to you voice tommorow. As for everyone else here, I also hope you dont think I am some sort of jerk. I have watched the goings on since I joined and it has been building. I hope you all will allow me this one vent :) |

Thank you Larry and to answer the question, NO I am not nor have I ever claimed to be the best. I have however, like you, always tried to do my best for the PPC members. I added the Web Guy e-mail address as a curtsey to help members having problems with the site. It has now been removed so I can assure my self that I will no longer be attacked. Tim, I received your apology, thank you. I would just like to remark about me sharing the email with everyone. I strongly believe that these types of matters should be dealt with one-on-one and NOT in a public forum BUT I also believe that if someone posts a remark about anyone in public, that person has a right to respond to it in public. That was my intention. Had you privately e-mailed me and told me I sucked I would have privately e-mailed you back and said, no I don't! Jim |

I agree with Gary C. I'm in on the group HUG. I'll always have a HUG for Jim "the web guy". I appreciate all the help he provided me whenever I needed it... Some jobs are "Thankless Jobs" Someone will have to maintain this site and it will require a lot of time, sweat & personal investment. I want to say Thanks up front for all the behind the scenes work that will be required to keep this up & running. Let's go Prowlin.... |
